A Prayer for Tuesday

Running on less than advisable sleep today. Mainly because I've begun writing heavily on the last 3 chapters of my doctoral project at Lincoln Christian Seminary. It has been a fruitful and challenging time, writing on the subject of how temperament affects prayer practices in individuals. I hope to share some of the insights I've gained from this project on the blog, but that would be getting a bit ahead of myself. For today, I wanted to share a tremendous prayer from John Bailie's "A Diary of Private Prayer." I hope that it generates some solid reflection for you on this "average" Tuesday:

Give me a stout heart to bear my own burdens. Give me a willing heart to bear the burdens of others. Give me a believing heart to cast all burdens upon Thee. Glory be to Thee, O Father, and to Thee, O Christ, and to Thee, O Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
