I've Had Enough
Contentment.Being okay with what we have, to the point that we completely surrender the quest for more.
I’m not saying we don’t quest for more of God, or more relationship-oriented things with our spouses and families, but I’m thinking more of our inner quest for bigger/better/faster/stronger.
How do we practically – daily – train ourselves to be content?
Do we pray, throughout the day: “Father God, you have given me all I need right now.”
Do we turn our heads when commercials come on?
Do we make a list of our blessings and read them with the knowledge that they are God’s best for us – a complete set of the things we need for “life and life to the full” (Jn. 10:10)?
Contentment is not people simply giving up the quest for more – instead it is living in the present “enough” that God has given. It means celebrating each day’s “enough” from God.
What would your life look like if you embraced the practice of being content on a daily basis?
