From the Onset

Starting this new blog, hmm...is like starting a new chapter of a novel. Every new chapter needs to have something that defines and describes the story to come.I think best in story, and this story will be about dialoguing with culture, Kingdom, and community for the sake of what God is doing through Christ in the present moments. I wanted to say that the title of this blog says a lot about its content--sacred and profane--rather than sacred and secular because I really am not sure there is a strong distinction between the two. There are beautiful things in the "secular" category, and so if theologian Bruce Benson is right in saying that "If all beauty comes from God then all beauty in the world is reflected beauty", then there is more than likely something divine and powerful in both the sacred and the "profane."
